Humans seek power and control at the expense of others in order to gain security, thereby making power and control a counterfeit god we worship. Today, we hear about Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, who desired power above all else and yet was stripped of that power by God. When Nebuchadnezzar came to his senses, he recognized all he had was a gift from the real God, not from himself.
