Jesus’s Tomb was empty. Roman guards, under penalty of death for abandoning their posts, were stationed to guard the tomb. Still, they fled in fear of the angels. Authorities even tried to bribe the guards to say the body was stolen, though that didn’t work. Simply put, Jesus’s body was placed behind a heavy stone in a fortified and guarded tomb, and then it was gone. Something real and true happened.
